ABSTRACT: The impact of early childhood education on geography knowledge was investigated to understand how early educational interventions enhance geographical understanding. Objectives were to evaluate children's geography knowledge, identify effective educational practices, and assess the long-term benefits of early geography education. A survey design was chosen for its efficiency in gathering broad data. Purposive sampling was used to select 200 children from preschools in Plateau State, Nigeria. Findings indicated that children exposed to geography education programs demonstrated better knowledge of geographical concepts and places, with activities like map reading, geographical games, and interactive lessons on physical geography being particularly effective. The study recommended integrating geography education into early childhood curricula to enhance geographical knowledge from an early age.
